Thursday Thirteen – Edition #4
So I was looking around this great Uk Home Office Furniture Super Market, and I saw some really nice desks, chairs, and other office furniture, and it made me think about what the boys need for their school room. Ok, right now we don’t actually have a “room”, it’s more like several areas where the boys do their schoolwork and have their computer. But it got me to thinking about what it is I’d really like to have, if/when we have a dedicated room for school. So that’s what my Thursday Thirteen is about.

My Home School Room Wish List
1.Mayfair Corner Computer Desk – Found at this Office Furniture Store – I found this adorable corner desk with 2 drawers, a nice desktop, places for the CPU tower, and plenty of desk space for the keyboard and writing. Right now the computer desk that we have is small, doesn’t have any drawers, and it’s also falling apart. The one that I found at the above website would be just about perfect. It’s got everything they’d need and room to write on. Of course they couldn’t do their arts and crafts projects, but that leads me to the next thing on my list.
2.Office Table – A nice wide table that both boys could do arts and crafts projects, at the same time! It doesn’t have to be huge, just big enough for the boys to sit on opposites sides of the table and have enough room to draw, paint, sculpt, or whatever other crafts they’d like to do.
3.A new Laptop, preferably a Dell – because they really are a great computer. I prefer their laptops because they have the ram, hd, processors that I generally like.
4. Dell is also the one that makes the Flip Camcorder, which every household should have! So that goes on my homeschool wish list.
5. Bookshelves, tons and tons of bookshelves. Where every book can be put away neatly, and we can find it easily on the shelves. Currently, we have a lot of bookshelves, but there’s still plenty of books that are stacked on the floor, or doubled on a shelf because we have more books than shelves. LOL!
6. Bins – we need bins and drawers for our supplies, toys, and other misc. items that don’t really fit on a shelf, but need to be put away neatly.
7. Large Wall Map – We actually have one of these, actually a couple of these that were sent to us by the school we use, K12.com. We have a world map, a north America map, a US map, and several others that show climate, topography, and stuff like that.
8. New Office Chairs – We need at least 2 new office chairs, one for each boy. We have chairs that they are using right now, but it would be nice to give them some chairs that are more comfortable and ergonomically correct.
9. Large Wall Calender – One that I can write the boys lesson schedules on, maybe their chores too. That could come in handy.
10. Desktop Organizer – I need one too, but I’d like to have one for the boys desk, the new one that I mentioned at the top of the list, where all their pencils, pens, and other supplies can be neatly put away…. of course that’s assuming my sons will put them away. I can dream!
11. Filing Cabinets – One for each boy to hold their finished schoolwork, completed projects, and other things that can be filed away.
12. A New House – I figure I need a new house to put this giant homeschool room in, because currently our house doesn’t have enough room for what we have. It’d need to have 3 bedrooms, an office, an extra room for the schoolroom, nice big kitchen, dining room, and living room. And at LEAST 3 bathrooms!
13. Since I’m getting a new house, I need a big yard too, preferably with a pool in it and plenty of room to run around and exercise.

Looks like you’ve put quite a bit of thought into this
I love your list. Especially #12 and #13. Having a back yard for physical education and recess seems perfectly suitable to me
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement today. They mean more than you know

Bookcases bookcases bookcases. I want more bookcases. We have so many books, I get them from thrift stores, library sales, sometimes even buy them new. They are doubled up and stacked up, they are in boxes. I want a roomful of bookcases, with all the books properly organized!
