"We never stop schooling". Unfortunately, as the boys got older, and I got busier with work, unschooling just wasn't possible. I couldn't take as much time to create things to do with them. Which is why I had to switch to using a "boxed" curriculum. They started needing more structure as they got older too. I guess we do more unschooling during the summer though. hehehehe Ya know, I loved unschooling, and when we were doing that, the boys would always say the same thing about it… “We never stop schooling”. Homeschooling isn't for everyone, but more and more parents are finding that supplementing their child's education can be a lot of fun. You're right, going different places is a great way to keep learning. We're planning a trip up to Baker, NV at the end of this month to go to a Star Party and then a hike through a cave. The star party is where a whole bunch of people gather in a nice dark place with their telescopes of various sizes and view the sky. You'd be amazed at how clearly you can see Saturn and Jupiter and how beautiful they are to see! It's GREAT for kids! LOL!
