Spring Break?
My sons are counting down the hours till “Spring Break”, which is going to be next week. They are going to be spending the entire week with my mom, because they need some “pampering” and no one does that better than Grandma… and Grandma needs some strong young men to help her around the house right now too. heh! Roger, who “goes” to Odyssey Charter High School, has an actual spring break. He doesn’t have “class” or course work next week, and won’t be going to P.E. But Jack, who is using Time4Learning for his curriculum doesn’t HAVE to go on break at any particular time, or at all for that matter. Music Music Music
I’ve always loved music, I’ve been in choirs most of my childhood, and played the piano forever. Most of my family is the same way. So when my sons have shown interest in any type of musical interest, I’ve tried to do my best to get them the instrument and lessons, or at the very least find a way to teach them myself or find it online.

It’s old, and needs repairs, but it’s still good enough to get it repaired. So we’ve taken it to a local guitar store and they are repairing it for him, and now I’m looking for someplace online to teach him how to play.
I’ve found a few free sources online which will give him a good foundation on the guitar and the basics on how to play. This will at least give him a good idea on whether or not he will want to continue and maybe take some real life lessons. I think Jack will really enjoy it, and plan to teach him and his brother how to play and sing a christmas song to play together on Christmas day for everyone. They should have fun doing this. Maybe i’ll video it and post it on here for all of you to see!
My Son Jack
He’s a Character for sure! While I’m working on my business, taking phone calls, the boys are generally downstairs doing their school work. Ineveitablly, Jackson is still doing his schoolwork long past the time I officially get “off work”. Mostly because he can’t stop thinking about everything else but school. He plays with the cat, he wanders around the house talking to who ever is or isn’t there. Literally he will spend all day on one math problem. Read the rest of this entry »
