If you’ve been reading this blog for any period of time, you would have noticed that it’s been a long time since I’ve written here.  With my business growing, and the boys getting older, I’ve had very little to write about when it comes to homeschooling.  We’re still homeschooling the boys, but it’s more school at home, than home schooling.  They are both going to be using Odyssey Charter High this coming year, and that leaves very little for me to actually do in the school.

As a blogger I have lots of resources up my sleeve to keep my blogs updated and interesting.  One of those things is Blog Energizer.com

One this website you get lots of great resources to share with your readers, and today I got word about a fantastic product and they are giving away a great Back to School package.  Now, I know what you’re thinking ‘But this is a HOME schooling website, we don’t GO “Back to school’!”.   This is true, however, these labels, even the Back to school ones, will be useful even for us homeschooling crowds!

The Montessori home schooling method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s to educate children from poor families in San Lorenzo Rome. Dr. Montessori developed a method of teaching children as children, rather than smaller adults. Instead of pigeonholing children into the common institutionalized methods such as grading and testing, the Montessori home schooling method allows children develop their talents, takes note of weaknesses, and encourages children to develop both their weaknesses, and natural talents in their own time.
